Our Story
For years, we lived in the fast-moving rhythm of Vancouver — endless schedules, crowded streets, and a pace that left little room to savour the simple things. Eventually, we felt the pull of something deeper: a desire to slow down, to live with intention, and to share meals that reflected values rather than convenience.
That journey brought us to the Cowichan Valley, a place where the forests meet the water, and where food is still connected to the land it comes from. Here, surrounded by growers, makers, and neighbours who share a love for authenticity, Cedar & Stone Bistro was born.
Our vision is straightforward yet essential: to craft meals that are honest, rooted in the island’s bounty, and created with care. From wild game and fresh-caught seafood to seasonal vegetables and handmade desserts, every plate carries a story of the land and the people who nurture it.
